PLANS for seven solar installations and three wind turbines in Fowey went under the microscope on Saturday when more than 50 people attended an exhibition in the town.
Fowey Renewable Energy Enterprise (FREE) is seeking consent for seven community-owned solar electric installations, including one at Squires Field triangle where solar panels would be mounted above parked cars.
It has also made proposals for three separate turbines outside the town – an 80kW wind turbine at upper Penhale Farm and at Lescrow and a smaller 10kW turbine at Lower Penhale.
The event at Fowey Town Hall was attended by Stephen Gilbert, MP, and included a talk from Dr Tristan Kershaw from the University of Exeter’s Centre for Energy and the Environment.
FREE Fowey is now inviting residents who missed the event to view the information displays and complete a short survey about the proposals in the foyer of Fowey Community Leisure Centre, Windmill until May 14 or on the website http://www.freefowey.org.uk
